Not all interdependence is codependence. The United States of America represents an extreme version of individualism. Other cultures have much more intertwined family and friendship ties. I see nothing wrong with living one’s life heavily overlapped with another. I do agree that successful polyamory may depend on doing some separation beforehand — but I do not agree with labeling all the examples of togetherness you cited as “creepy” or “codependent.” They’re just another way of doing relationships.
