Your quote above is out of context. It was part of the subtext of white peoples’ response to being asked about the specificity of their ethnicities. Here it is in its entirety:
Subtext: White people don’t really have ethnicities. We’re…you know…white. That’s what’s most important. Let’s just…keep quiet about the…um…other stuff.
I myself am saying exactly the opposite. All of have ethnicities deeper than whiteness. I am glad you know yours!
